From 1 May to 30 September dogs are excluded from the Tankerton beach section level with Pier Avenue West to The Street, and must be on leads on its promenade. Follow current signs.

Share the path considerately with cyclists and keep your dog close. The full 7.5-mile route is one way, so plan the return before extending the outing.

Check into the arranged dog room, then take a short harbour or Tankerton outing. Keep the seasonal beach boundary in mind and settle dinner arrangements before heading out. From Wraik Hill, allow for the journey back to the hotel.
If the weather is comfortable, return to a permitted coastal section. Otherwise choose a short Crab and Winkle route with a clear turnaround. Keep the day flexible rather than trying to walk all the way to Canterbury and back.
