Plan a break with your dog
A dog-friendly break starts with a few practical questions. Use these before you book, then build a day with plenty of room to change your mind.
Book the dog’s place, too
Tell the accommodation how many dogs you are bringing, their size and any relevant needs. Ask for written confirmation that the specific room accepts them. A general pets-allowed badge does not confirm your room.
Ask what the whole stay costs
Confirm whether the dog charge is per dog, per night or per stay. Ask about deposits, cleaning charges and dog-number limits. Our quoted policies are a research snapshot, not a live price.
Work out dinner before arrival
Check whether dogs can join you for breakfast and dinner, and which areas are available. If dogs cannot be left alone in the room, an adults-only restaurant booking needs another plan.
Choose a day your dog will enjoy
Consider crowds, steps, shared cycle routes and how far your dog normally walks. Include an easy turnaround and a shorter option. A scenic route does not have to become an all-day challenge.
Check the local rules for your dates
Beach boundaries, seasonal restrictions and venue access vary. Use official local information, then read signs on arrival. Follow lead requirements and leave space around livestock and wildlife.
Pack for the ordinary moments
Bring familiar bedding, food, water and a bowl, bags, a towel and any usual care essentials. Keep accommodation details to hand. Check the forecast and have a comfortable plan for rest stops and wet weather.
