Arundel is best approached as an outdoor town-and-river break with your dog. Enjoy the historic streets and castle views on arrival, then choose a Swanbourne Lake and River Arun walk if the ground and weather suit. The similarly named Swan and White Swan are separate hotels, with different locations and dog charges, so check the address as carefully as the room.

Worthing suits a seaside break built around the promenade rather than unrestricted summer beach access. Stay near the seafront, take a gentle on-lead arrival walk and keep Beach House Park as a second outing. The two hotel choices both confirm overnight dogs, but the Chatsworth’s published terms need a little more direct clarification than Windsor House’s straightforward per-dog nightly charge.
