A small inn in the town itself, useful if you prefer returning to a central base after your outing. The operator advertises nine bedrooms and dog-friendly accommodation, but you need to speak to the team about the particular room.

A country-house alternative on Warrington Road in Mere. Choose it for a base outside the town, allowing for the journey to your outing and back. Dog-friendly room supply is explicitly limited.

Make this the main outing rather than a stop between several attractions. Start with a modest walk and extend only if your dog is comfortable around wildlife. There is a vehicle-entry charge; people arriving on foot or by bicycle enter the parkland free.
Dogs must be on leads throughout the parkland from 1 May to 31 July, and in signed areas at other times. Keep clear of deer and sheep; dogs cannot swim in the meres.
The formal gardens offer another option when you want a more contained outing; check the separate ticket and opening arrangements. The Stables Restaurant admits dogs, making a meal there a practical possibility when it is open.
Gardens require short leads and allow one dog per adult. Pet dogs cannot enter the Mansion, Old Hall, shops or play area. A dog-friendly estate does not mean unrestricted indoor access.
The Moor sits beside the southern end of Tatton Mere, with paths and waterside seating. It is a useful smaller outing on arrival day; use the Moorside or Church Walk entrance. The council lists a pay-and-display car park opposite.
Follow current dog-control notices and keep away from the play area and waterbirds. We have not verified an off-lead area, so plan this as a controlled stroll rather than a run.
Check in, give your dog time to settle and head to The Moor for a short walk. If your base is in Mere, decide whether to visit Knutsford before check-in so you avoid an unnecessary extra journey. Sort out dinner with the hotel or a venue that has agreed to welcome your dog; do not leave that decision until a tired, wet arrival.
Day two · one substantial outing, with room to shorten it
Plan around Tatton and choose your main walking section when you see the weather and your dog’s energy. Keep the garden option as a choice, not an obligation to buy every ticket. Stop for a meal only if opening times and space suit you, then leave time to dry off and rest back at your room. You do not need to complete a circuit to have a good park day.
