The National Trust’s 5.8-mile/9.28 km route is a full outing, estimated at four to five hours. It follows lanes, stone paths and rough tracks, with steep and muddy sections.
Keep dogs under close control and on leads near livestock. This route is not suitable for limited mobility; use the current directions and conditions to decide whether it fits your dog.
After checking into the agreed dog room, take a short town outing and look at Bridge House from the public street. If time and energy allow, make a separate journey to Waterhead for a suitable sailing. Leave time to return for the designated dog dining area, rather than assuming a main restaurant table will work.
