The Regional Park lists Glencorse View as a 2.7-mile/4.5 km moderate loop from Flotterstone Information Centre, passing woodland and the burn to Glencorse Reservoir before returning via Castlelaw. It is outside the town centre, so account for the drive to the route start and allow a suitable amount of time.
Sheep are widespread in the Pentland Hills. The Regional Park advises avoiding fields with sheep and lambs where possible; if you must pass through, keep your dog on a short lead or close at heel and well away from the animals. Follow entrance signs, and use a lead if recall is uncertain.
