Where can my dog go at Glastonbury Abbey?
Dogs are welcome in the grounds on short leads. The Abbey FAQ says dogs are not permitted inside the Yard Café and Gift Shop, while its entry terms allow them in that building only while the owner is ordering (except registered guide dogs). To avoid a surprise, plan to keep your dog outside and confirm with the Abbey if you need to enter together.
Do we have to climb Glastonbury Tor for a dog-friendly visit?
No. Glastonbury Abbey describes a nearly one-mile walk around its 36-acre grounds as a shorter option; the Tor walk from the Abbey is about three miles return, and the Glastonbury Way is about seven miles. Check opening and admission details for the Abbey before you go.
Does my dog need to stay on a lead at Glastonbury Tor?
Yes. The National Trust welcomes dogs year-round but says grazing livestock mean dogs must be on leads at all times; clean up and follow local signs. There is no general parking at the Tor: the nearest fee-paying car park is about half a mile away, with only two designated Blue Badge spaces at the Tor.
